This one issue is killing Donald Trump’s approval rating, poll finds
The numbers are not good for Donald Trump.
The president has matched the lowest approval rating of his second term in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, the survey found.
The three-day poll, which last concluded on Sunday and was published Wednesday, found Trump’s approval at 42% — two points lower than last week and tied for the lowest of his second term, the poll showed.
Trump’s approval rating has been stuck in reverse because Americans’ disapproval of his stewardship of the economy, according to the survey.
Just 39% of U.S. adults approve of Trump’s performance on the economy, the poll found, while 53% disapprove.
On cost of living, just 33% of respondents approve of Trump’s performance while 58% disapprove.
And on employment and jobs, 41% approve of the president’s performance compared to 49% who disapprove.
The poll has a margin of error of plus-or-minus three percentage points.
