Graduation plans change for several north Alabama schools as storms threaten state

Multiple schools in north Alabama are revising graduation plans due to the threat of severe weather on Tuesday.

North and central parts of Alabama will be under a Level 3 out of 5 severe weather risk on Tuesday, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and hail and heavy rain are all possible to occur as weather threats.

To try and avoid the inclement weather several schools are changing the time of their graduation ceremonies or moving the event to Wednesday.

These are the schools that have announced changes to their graduation schedules this week:

Geraldine High School – Graduation moved to 5 p.m. at Ed Nix Gymnasium.

Hazel Green High School – Graduation moved to 2 p.m. at Von Braun Center.

Buckhorn High School – Graduation moved from Tuesday to Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Von Braun Center.

Ider High School – Graduation moved to 5 p.m. in the school gym.

This list will be updated if more schools change graduation plans.
