Weather threat forces change to 2 Madison County graduations
The Madison County Schools district is adjusting graduation plans for two high schools in response to a severe weather forecast issued by the National Weather Service.
These changes to Hazel Green’s and Buckhorn’s graduations are being made to ensure the safety of students, family, faculty and staff, the school district said.
Hazel Green High School’s graduation ceremony will still occur on Tuesday. However, it will begin one hour earlier than planned to avoid the most dangerous part of the weather system.
The ceremony at the Von Braun Center’s Propst Arena will begin at 2 p.m. The adjustment will allow participants to safely return home, the district said in a statement.
Buckhorn’s graduation has been rescheduled. The ceremony will now be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Propst Arena.
