Indian street food franchise bringing first location to Alabama

California-based Curry Up Now is coming to Birmingham.

The fast-casual Indian street food franchise will occupy a 1,760-square-foot space in the new Fifth and Twentieth building at 2001 Fifth Ave. S.

It will be adjacent to Tropical Smoothie Cafe and join Chase Bank and Qdoba Mexican East.

This will be Curry Up Now’s first location in Alabama.

The franchise has locations in six states.

Curry Up Now is an award-winning restaurant that was founded in 2009 by Akash and Rana Kapoor in San Mateo, Calif. It began as a single food truck and quickly grew into a thriving restaurant concept. The restaurant offers Indian fusion concepts, such Tikka Masala Burritos, Deconstructed Samosas and the Tandoori Fried Chicken Sandwich.
