More strong storms possible today and Sunday in Alabama
Scattered severe storms will be possible today (Saturday) in the southeast corner of Alabama.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has added a Level 2 out of 5 (slight) risk for severe weather for southeast Alabama today.
A Level 2 risk means that scattered severe storms will be possible.
A larger area in south and south-central Alabama also has a Level 1 risk today, which means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
The National Weather Service said the strongest storms could have damaging wind gusts, hail and heavy rain.
The Storm Prediction Center is also outlining a low tornado risk for those areas as well. Here’s today’s tornado outlook:

The weather service in Mobile issued two tornado warnings earlier this morning for parts of Mobile and Baldwin counties as storms. So far the weather service has not relayed any damage reports from those storms, and more severe weather is not expected for those areas today.
The rest of Alabama, including all of north Alabama, the northern part of central Alabama, and areas in southwest Alabama, could get rain and storms today, but severe weather isn’t expected.
It won’t rain all day today, but waves of rain and storms will be possible, according to the weather service, with the storms becoming more numerous during the afternoon and evening hours.

The chances for severe storms will extend into Sunday as well.
The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a Level 1 risk for parts of south and parts of central Alabama on Sunday, which means isolated severe storms will again be possible.

Damaging winds, hail and heavy rain will again be the main hazards from any stronger storm that develops on Sunday.
The main timeframe for stronger storms tomorrow will be during the afternoon and evening hours.
Look for continued high chances for rain and a few storms on Monday, and there is a Level 1 severe weather risk for extreme eastern Alabama:

Rain chances will continue into Tuesday, but drier weather is expected starting on Wednesday, and that trend could continue through at least Friday, according to the weather service.
