You want Mom to be happy on Mother’s Day, so maybe a free sugar rush is what she needs.

Jaclyn Robinson, founder of Mobile-based Mo’Bay Beignets, has posted this simple offer on social media: “I’m honoring My Mom this Mother’s Day with Free Beignets for Your Mom.”

The offer appears to be posted only on the Facebook pages for the company’s flagship store at 451 Dauphin St. and the west Mobile location of Mo’Bay and sister company Bay Town Burger Co. at 7450-D Airport Blvd., not for franchises outside Mobile.

It’s a straightforward deal: “Bring your mom in on Mother’s Day and I’ll treat her to a free order of beignet minis or a free 3pc order of beignets … in honor of my mom.”

Accompanying information says that Robinson’s mother, Marsha Bailey, died in December 2023. “None of this would have been possible without your love, support and encouragement,” it says. “You were Mo’Bay’s biggest fan and my biggest cheerleader.”

We’re not saying you should just treat Mom to free beignets, but it’s a start.
