United Football League Week 6 roundup: Tight races at the top
The Week 6 outcomes in the United Football League left ties at the top of each conference with four weeks remaining in the 2025 season.
In the Week 6 games:
- St. Louis wide receiver Hakeem Butler caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Max Duggan for the game’s first points – and only touchdown – in the Battlehawks’ 12-6 victory over the Arlington Renegades on Friday. St. Louis won with an offensive total of 171 yards as Arlington lost three fumbles and an interception and incurred 11 penalties.
- Houston defensive end T.J. Franklin returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown as the Roughnecks took a seven-point lead in the third quarter and held on for a 21-20 victory over the Memphis Showboats. Memphis reached the Houston 24 and 9 after the Roughnecks took the lead but settled for two field goals. The Houston offense ran out the final 5:41 on the clock.
- Michigan quarterback Bryce Perkins threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 76 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers’ 38-14 victory over the DC Defenders on Sunday. Michigan ran for 213 yards and three touchdowns, including 94 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries by running back Toa Taua, offsetting the performance of DC wide receiver Chris Rowland, who had nine receptions for 144 yards and one touchdown.
- The Birmingham Stallions buried San Antonio 26-3 by holding the Brahmas to 0-of-10 on third down, recording three sacks and forcing two turnovers on Sunday. While San Antonio totaled 178 yards, Birmingham gained 313, with quarterback Case Cookus throwing for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Michigan’s victory over DC put each team at 4-2. St. Louis also reached 4-2 while keeping Arlington from getting there. Birmingham went to 4-2, too.
The Stallions and Panthers are tied at the top of the USFL Conference. The Defenders and Battlehawks are in the lead in the XFL Conference.
Arlington in the XFL Conference and Houston in the USFL Conference are at 3-3. Memphis and San Antonio have won one game apiece.

Sal Cannella (Auburn) started at tight end for the Renegades. Cannella caught two passes for 13 yards.

Roughnecks linebacker Christopher Allen (Alabama) recorded one tackle for loss.
Dee Anderson (Alabama A&M) started at wide receiver for the Showboats. Anderson had five receptions for 47 yards.
Eric Garror (McGill-Toolen) started at cornerback for the Showboats. Garror made four tackles, returned one punt for 5 yards and ran back three kickoffs for 71 yards.
Keenan Isaac (Midfield, Alabama State) started at cornerback for the Roughnecks. Isaac made two tackles and broke up two passes.
Roughnecks offensive lineman Avery Jones (Auburn) did not record any stats.
Roughnecks punter Mike Rivers (Troy) averaged 47.3 yards on six punts. Rivers had a 59-yard punt for a touchback, a 47-yarder returned 5 yards to the Memphis 37, a 53-yarder returned 1 yard to the Memphis 27, a 42-yarder out of bounds at the Memphis 25, a 38-yarder downed at the Memphis 19 and a 45-yarder returned 44 yards to the Houston 36.
Showboats wide receiver Eli Stove (Auburn) was designated as a game-day inactive.
Showboats tight end Jay Jay Wilson (Auburn) had two receptions for 6 yards and one touchdown. Wilson scored on a 2-yard pass from quarterback Dresser Winn as Memphis reduced Houston’s lead to 10-6 with 7:26 left in the first half.
Michigan Panthers 38, DC Defenders 14
Defenders long snapper/tight end Trae Barry (Spanish Fort, Jacksonville State) handled the snaps for five punts and one field-goal attempt and made one tackle on special teams.
Defenders offensive lineman Gunner Britton (Auburn) did not record any stats.
Panthers offensive tackle Cam Carter (Minor) did not record any stats.
Tykeem Doss (Aliceville) started at left guard for the Defenders.
Panthers outside linebacker De’Gabriel Floyd (Alabama A&M) is on the injured list and not eligible to play.
Garrett Marino (UAB) started at defensive tackle for the Panthers. Marino made one tackle.
Panthers defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth (Murphy) did not record any stats.

Deonte Brown (Austin, Alabama) started at right guard for the Stallions.
Brahmas defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs (Alabama) did not record any stats. Buggs signed with San Antonio on Thursday.
Stallions cornerback Shyheim Carter (Alabama) made four tackles.
Stallions long snapper William Mote (Spain Park) handled the snaps on four punts and two field-goal attempts in his UFL debut
Stallions guard Lachavious Simmons (Selma) is on the injured list and not eligible to play.
Stallions wide receiver Austin Watkins (UAB) was designated as a game-day inactive.
Stallions wide receiver Marlon Williams (McGill-Toolen) had three receptions for 37 yards.
In the UFL’s Week 7 games (with all times Central):
- The Defenders (4-2) and Brahmas (1-5) play at 7 p.m. Friday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. FOX will televise the game.
- The Panthers (4-2) and Renegades (3-3) will play at noon Saturday at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, Texas. FOX will televise the game.
- The Roughnecks (3-3) and Stallions (4-2) will play at 11 a.m. Sunday at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. ABC will televise the game.
- The Battlehawks (4-2) and Showboats (1-5) will play at 2 p.m. Sunday at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tenn.
