The AHSAA softball postseason will make its move to neutral sites.

Regionals across the state are set to begin on Monday with area champions and runner-ups set to fight for spots in the state tournament.

Those teams will travel to the Gulf Shores Sportsplex (South Regional), Lagoon Park in Montgomery (Central Regional), Sand Mountain Park in Albertville (East Regional) and Coffee O’Neal Park in Florence (North Regional).

Each regional will have an area champion face an area runner-up in the first round in the double-elimination tournament. The eventual winners bracket winner and the elimination bracket winner will head to the state tournament as No. 1 and No. 2 qualifiers, respectively.

The state tournament is set to begin on May 12 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, with the softball season concluding on May 16 with the Class 6A championship.
