Two Alabama teens found shot to death in Nashville woods

Two Alabama teens have been identified as two people found killed earlier this week in Tennessee.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department identified the victims as Amir Landan Wilkerson, 19, and Jamie Valdez-Garcia, 18. Both lived in Alabaster.

The victims were found just before 2 p.m. Monday in a wooded area of Army Corps of Engineers property between Lincoya Bay Apartments and Percy Priest Lake.

The discovery was made by a resident walking on a wooded trail, police said. Both had been shot multiple times.

Authorities Identified Wilkerson on Tuesday through his wallet. They released Valdez-Garcia’s identity on Wednesday.

Police on Wednesday said the teens are believed to have traveled from Alabaster to Nashville on Sunday, which is when their families last reported seeing them.

Investigators are still trying to determine why they made the trip, and who killed them.
