Bill Belichick’s girlfriend leaks email about book after awkward CBS interview
Jordon Hudson, Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, took to social media to reveal an email from the North Carolina football coach expressing his frustration over promoting his new book.
The post came two days after an awkward interview with CBS Sunday Morning in which Hudson shut down questions to the former New England Patriots coach, 73, about how they two met.
Hudson posted screenshots to Instagram on Tuesday, writing “Full statement to be released later today.”
The email details Belichick’s growing frustration with the promotion for his book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football.
In the email, he discusses an article that focuses on his admission that he “f—– up” in a Super Bowl over the “260+ pages” of other topics in the book.
“This is about what I expected from the media,” Belichick wrote. “I have, at times reluctantly, gone along with the title, cover and language in the book. I am not going to be the conductor of a hype train in the book promotion — we have enough hype to work with. …
“I hope we can get on the same page in promoting the book authentically.”
A video clip of Belichick’s interview with CBS Sunday Morning’s Tony Dokoupil went viral after Hudson was monitoring the interview.
“I’ve never been too worried about what everybody else thinks,” Belichick said during the interview. “Just try to do what I feel like is best for me and what’s right.”
Dokoupil asked Belichick how he and Hudson met, and she cut in saying, “We’re not talking about this.”
Dokoupil then asked, “No?” and Hudson responded, “No.”
