Nick Saban gives marriage advice to newly-engaged NFL draft pick
ABC’s NFL draft coverage often takes the human-interest angle toward various prospects, which occasionally leads to humorous exchanges.
Such was the case Friday after Georgia offensive lineman Dylan Fairchild was drafted in the third round by the Cincinnati Bengals. Fairchild was recently engaged, and host Rece Davis asked former Alabama coach Nick Saban if he had any advice given that Saban and wife Terry have been happily married for more than 50 years.
“Let her be the boss,” Saban deadpanned.
Asked to elaborate, Saban added, “When I retired, Mrs. Terry gave me the Ten Commandments of Retirement. After one week, she said ‘ten’s not enough.’”
