Alabama QB Jalen Milroe selected in third round of 2025 NFL Draft by Seahawks
Alabama football quarterback Jalen Milroe is off the board. Milroe was taken by the Seattle Seahawks at pick No. 92 in the 2025 NFL Draft on Day 2.
Milroe served as the Crimson Tide’s starter for the past two seasons, taking over in 2023 after Bryce Young’s departure. He was also a captain for Alabama in both 2023 and 2024.
In 2024, Milroe threw for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also was the Crimson Tide’s best threat in the run game, going for 726 yards and 20 scores on the ground.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Texas native joined the Alabama as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He could have returned to Tuscaloosa for a final college season, but opted to enter the draft instead of using his last year of eligibility.
Most evaluations of Milroe ahead of the draft focused on his upside potential, but also pointed out how inconsistent he was throughout his time at Alabama.
“To reach that ceiling, he’ll need a lot of development,” Nick Akridge of Pro Football Focus wrote in his scouting report of Milroe. “His arm talent and running ability will elevate his floor, but that won’t be enough if he can’t improve how fast he processes information and his accuracy on routine throws. He’ll need to be in a quarterback-friendly system that won’t require him to play right away, with a coach who has a track record of developing quarterbacks.”
Milroe has plenty of physical tools that excited NFL scouts. His arm talent is elite, and he ran what Alabama reported as a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at Alabama’s pro day.
However, to succeed at the NFL level, he’ll need to eliminate some of the poor decision making that plagued him throughout the 2024 season. Milroe threw 11 interceptions throughout the year, and struggled with turnovers during Alabama’s losses.
