Rock star’s wife shot by police, charged with attempted murder
Weezer bassist Scott Shriner’s wife, Jillian Lauren Shriner, was shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries by Los Angeles police officers.
FOX News reports, according to a LAPD press release, Jillian Shriner allegedly pointed a gun at authorities Tuesday.
Officers responded to a request for backup “locating three misdemeanor hit-and-run suspects who fled into a residential neighborhood” Tuesday afternoon.
“The officers ordered Shriner to drop the handgun numerous times; however, she refused,” the release stated. “Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred,” the release read. “Shriner was struck by gunfire and fled into her residence. She later exited and was taken into custody.”
Per LAPD, she refused.
Jillian Shriner, 51, according to the report, then allegedly pointed her gun at the officers before police shot her.
Paramedics transported Jillian Shriner to a hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
She was booked for attempted murder.
