Auburn football celebrating former coach Pat Dye in 2025 home opener

Kickoff on the plains will be a legendary reunion for Auburn football, as former coach Pat Dye will be honored on Saturday, Sep. 6th.

The coach Pat Dye reunion game will host some of his former players and staff inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, for the Tigers home opener against Ball State.

In his 12 seasons as head coach at Auburn, Dye led the Tigers to a 99-39-4 record and won four Southeastern Conference Championships. Dye was the Tigers head coach from 1981-92 and its athletics director from 1981-91.

During his coaching tenure, he coached a Heisman Trophy winner in Bo Jackson, 21 All-Americans, 71 All-SEC players and 48 academic All-SEC players. Dye passed away at the age of 80 in 2020.

Auburn football will release more details about the Pat Dye reunion this fall.
