Two men were killed in a horrific crash Friday night in west Birmingham.

Birmingham police and firefighters were dispatched at 8 p.m. to the single-vehicle wreck in the 900 block of Bessemer Road. 911 callers reported one man was in the street and the other was trapped in the vehicle.

First responders arrived to find an SUV had crashed into a tree.

One of the victims was pronounced dead on the scene. The second victim died later at UAB Hospital, according to police.

Their names have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
