Temperatures hit record-breaking highs in these Alabama cities today
Alabama had a third straight day of record high temperatures on Friday, according to National Weather Service data.
Several cities either tied or broke the daily high temperature record for April 4:
- Anniston tied its record high of 86 degrees last reached in 1969.
- Huntsville tied its record high of 89 degrees last reached in 1969.
- Tuscaloosa hit 88 degrees, breaking its record high of 87 degrees from 2023.
There is one more day of Alabama’s summer preview to come. The weather service is forecasting highs to again reach the mid- to upper 80s on Saturday across the state (see the forecast for Saturday at the top of this post).
Rain and storms are expected to arrive late Saturday night into Sunday morning, and cooler temperatures are expected to follow into next week, according to forecasters.
