WWE legend hospitalized after car accident

Mick Foley was hospitalized on Tuesday after a car accident left him with a minor concussion.

The WWE Hall of Famer posted the news – and updates – on social media. According to the post, he was on his way to a signing event in West Virginia when the accident took place.

“It’s been a little over 24 hours since I climbed out of this car, and I’m feeling very fortunate and very grateful,” he posted on Facebook. “I do feel like I’ve been run over by a truck, but the idea that someone would be in an accident like this and walk away with only soft tissue injury makes me feel like someone was looking out for me!

“Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes. I’m back on the road tomorrow and will not miss a single date!”

His first post on Facebook shared the initial news with fans.

“I am so sorry that I will not be in West Virginia today,” he posted. “I was involved in a car accident and will be spending the day in the hospital. I am being checked out for what is likely a minor concussion and will be kept overnight for observation. Thank you for understanding.”

According to Taste of Country, the accident comes a week after Foley was the subject of the season premiere of “Dark Side of the Ring,” an episode that explored the toll his wrestling style has taken on his body and mind.
