3 accused of trying to smuggle drugs, phones, vape pens into Alabama prison
Three people were arrested earlier today, accused of trying to smuggle drugs and cell phones into an Alabama prison.
Adam Louis Malone, Audrey Teresa Kelley and Frederick Jermaine Cobb were taken into custody at Holman Correction Facility.
Alabama Department of Corrections officials said a prison K-9 alerted on a suspicious vehicle outside the prison.
Investigators with the agency’s Law Enforcement Services Division searched the vehicle and seized 12 vape pens, eight cell phones, 1,008 grams of marijuana, 88 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of Oxycodone, 20 grams of sprayed paper and four grams of fentanyl.
All three suspects are charged with trafficking marijuana, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, attempt to commit a controlled substance crime – distribution, and possession of Oxycodone.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
