Huntsville police say a man was shot to death Monday night, apparently following an argument.

Officers responded to reports of a possible shooting in progress at about 9 p.m. in the 2800 block of Turf Avenue.

According to police, officers found a 33-year-old man in the front yard of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man, identified as Thaddeus Stewart, was transported to the hospital for treatment, but died later from his injuries.

Investigators from the department’s Major Crimes Unit believe Stewart was involved in an argument with another individual shortly before the shooting happened.

Police are investigating.
