Jalen Hurts, professional crawfish cooker?
After sidelining Super Bowl Opening Night for the previous two seasons because of the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL brought back the sprawling media event/press conference/free-for-all on Monday night in Phoenix for Super Bowl LVII.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts fielded questions from two children who were brought up to join him on his riser, met former Alabama All-America golfer Justin Thomas (the PGA Tour’s “media correspondent”) and answered the same question at least four times without the slightest hint of irritation during his hour or so in the spotlight.

· WHICH COLLEGE CONFERENCE HAS THE MOST FORMER PLAYERS IN SUPER BOWL LVII?
· HOW DID THE STATE’S PLAYERS PERFORM IN THE PRO BOWL GAMES?
Questioners also wanted to know:
· Who should play Hurts in a movie about the Super Bowl? The former Crimson Tide signal-caller picked Will Smith.
· What kind of music he likes? Hurts said he was in a Luther Vandross mood on Monday, you can’t go wrong with Frankie Beverly and Maze, and he tries to listen to Angela Winbush’s “Your Smile” before games.
· His favorite Bible verse? It’s John 13:7.
· His coolest play? It came while playing for Channelview High School in Texas and was a pass thrown while falling like he’d seen Andrew Luck do.
But the out-of-the-blue answer for the non-football questions came when Hurts was asked what he’d be doing if he wasn’t a football player.
“I could be a coach,” Hurts said. “… But I would probably be a professional crawfish cooker.”
