Chambers County teen killed in car crash, two others injured
A LaFayette teenager died in a car accident Friday evening, according to law enforcement.
The 16-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway and overturned. The teenager was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a release.
The 17 year-old-driver and an 18 year-old-passenger were injured in the single-vehicle crash and transported to a local hospital. The three teenagers were traveling in a 2014 Nissan Altima.
The crash occurred at 5:45 pm about three miles west of LaFayette in Chambers County, on Chambers County 32.
No further details are available as ALEA troopers continue to investigate.
