One person was killed and four others injured in a Friday morning crash in unincorporated Jefferson County.

The wreck happened at 7:34 a.m. in the 2600 block of Alliance Road.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Henry Irby said two vehicles were involved in the collision.

Four other people – including two children – were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions are not yet known.

The accident shut down the road until about 11:30 a.m. The sheriff’s office is investigating.
