How fast could Ryan Williams run a 40-yard dash? What the Alabama receiver said

Ryan Williams doesn’t lack for speed.

He showed that off throughout his freshman season with Alabama football in 2024. But he thinks he’s even faster than Jalen Milroe, his former quarterback who’s known for his wheels.

“No surprises,” Williams said after Milroe ran it Wednesday at Alabama’s pro day. “My guy went 4.37. Jalen Milroe the best athlete in the country. But, he know and I know I’m faster than him. So when it is my time …”

Williams thinks he will beat that number for Milroe, which SEC Network reported to officially be 4.40. AL.com’s unofficial stopwatch clocked Milroe at 4.41.

“I would definitely beat 4.37,” Williams said.

It’s been a few years since Williams was last timed in the 40-yard dash, though. He thinks it was 10th grade.

“I know it was at least 4.4,” Williams said.

Williams won’t be able to declare for the NFL Draft for two more years. So he will return for his sophomore season in 2025 with the Crimson Tide.

Williams, a Saraland product, caught 48 passes for 865 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024.
