The brand new limited series A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read premieres on Investigation Discovery Monday, March 17 at 9/8c.

The new ID series follows Karen Read, a woman accused of murdering her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe with her SUV in 2022. The limited docuseries follows Read’s first trial, which ended with a hung jury in July 2024. Read returns for her second trial scheduled to start April 1.

Viewers can expect to see never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of Read’s first trial along with interviews with experts and those involved with the case. Despite the heat surrounding Read and her possible involvement, she maintains her innocence.

A Body in the Snow: The Trial of Karen Read consists of three parts, which will air over the course of three days. Following the premiere episode on Monday, March 17, the second episode will release Tuesday with the final episode set to release on Wednesday. All three parts will air at 9/8c on Investigation Discovery.

Read, 44, is a financial analyst from Massachusetts who is standing trial for allegedly hitting and killing her boyfriend, former Boston police officer O’Keefe with her SUV in 2022 during a snowstorm.

In her first trial, Read pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her. Read was charged with second-degree murder, leaving the scene of personal injury and death, and manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol.

O’Keefe was found deceased outside of Boston police officer Brian Albert’s home in Canton in late January 2022 after a night out with Read and some of his friends.
