James Taylor will return to Alabama for three shows in 2023, playing outdoor venues in Orange Beach, Pelham and Huntsville. Promoter Live Nation/Red Mountain Entertainment announced the dates on Monday. All are billed as “An Evening with James Taylor & His All-Star Band.”

The legendary singer/songwriter, 74, has plenty of fans throughout the state, and they’ll have a chance to see him perform at the following shows:

• June 15 at 7:30 p.m., The Wharf Amphitheater, 23101 Canal Road, Orange Beach. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, via Ticketmaster. Prices are $59.50, $79.50, $99.50, $125, $145 and $185, plus service charges. Various pre-sales start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, and run through 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, according to the Ticketmaster listing.
• June 18 at 7:30 p.m., Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, 1000 Amphitheater Road, Pelham. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, via Ticketmaster. Note: According to Taylor’s website, members of his fan club will have early access to pre-sale tickets, starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Taylor, a multi-Grammy winner and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has inspired generations of singer-songwriters with folk-pop songs such as “Fire and Rain,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Shower the People,” “Mexico,” “Your Smiling Face,” “Carolina in My Mind,” “Country Road” and “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You).”

His tour schedule for 2023 includes more than 20 dates in May and June, including the concerts in Alabama. Taylor has played in the state several times before, including shows in 2011 at the BCC Concert Hall and 2014 at the Legacy Arena.

“Quality and consistency were on Taylor’s side,” AL.com said in a review of the 2011 concert. “His voice sounded as warm and engaging as ever, although slightly less strong than in years past. His instrumental skills? Fully intact. In fact, it was a pleasure to watch his hands caressing an acoustic guitar in close-up shots on two video screens.”
