Which Auburn basketball players earned All-SEC honors?
Auburn men’s basketball cleaned up in the Southeastern Conference’s end of season awards announced Monday.
The Tigers placed four players on the various All-SEC teams, along with having both the player and coach of the year. The awards were voted on by the conference’s head coaches.
Star forward Johni Broome was the lone Auburn player named to the first team and was also named SEC Player of the Year.
Broome averaged 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.4 blocks during the 2024-2025 season, leading the team in each category. It’s the second straight season he has made the All-SEC First Team.
Starting wing Chad Baker-Mazara was named to the All-SEC Third Team, an honor he also received in the conference’s preseason awards. Baker-Mazara averaged 12.9 points, shooting 46.9% from the field and 38.7% from 3-point range.
Starting point guard Denver Jones was named to the SEC All-Defensive team. He played in and started every game but one for Auburn this season, missing the recent loss to Texas A&M with an injury.
Head coach Bruce Pearl has praised Jones’ defensive efforts all season, with his most impressive performances being when he held star Alabama guard Mark Sears to a combined 7-for-26 from the field in two games against Auburn.
Exciting freshman guard Tahaad Pettiford was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, the fifth time in the last six seasons an Auburn player has been named to the team.
He averaged 11.6 points and three assists per game this season, doing so while coming off the bench in every game but one.
