A Mobile County man has died following injuries sustained during a residential fire Saturday night.

According to a news release from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, dispatchers received calls that a house was on fire on Wolf Ridge Road at about 7:25 p.m. Saturday.

After firefighters arrived at the scene, they entered the home to extinguish the fire and look for potential victims. A man was discovered with life-threatening injuries, according to the department release.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The department said firefighters were able to extinguish the fire completely and its cause remains under investigation.
