Which college conference has the most former players in Super Bowl LVII?
When Super Bowl LVII is over on Sunday night, Auburn will have at least its 19th winner in the NFL’s big game.
Auburn is among 14 college football programs that have alumni on the active rosters of both teams that will play for the 2022 NFL championship – the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
So do Florida, Georgia and Mississippi State, reflecting the SEC’s continued status as the Triple-A league of the NFL.

The SEC’s programs again have produced the most players on the active rosters of the Super Bowl participants with 22 – six more than the Big Ten.
The Super Bowl rosters are laid on the foundation provided by college football’s Power 5 conferences, which have provided 69 of the players. For last season’s big game, that number was 84, though, and with 11 alumni involved, the AAC has as many as the ACC and the Big 12, even though Big 12 member Oklahoma has produced more Super Bowl players than any other program this season with six.
And 10 of the players preparing for Super Bowl LVII played below the NCAA FBS level in college – twice the number from last year’s NFL championship game.
The 106 active-roster players represent 66 colleges.

The SEC’s Super Bowl players include two Auburn alumni — Kansas City offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho and Philadelphia offensive lineman Jack Driscoll. Although both players are primarily reserves, they have played in every game this season, with Driscoll making three starts.
There’s a possibility another Auburn alumnus could be involved. Philadelphia punter Arryn Siposs hasn’t played since sustaining an ankle injury on Dec. 11. But he returned to practice on Wednesday and is eligible to be restored to the actve roster.
Eighteen Auburn alumni have played for the winning team in the Super Bowl, most recently cornerbacks Carlton Davis and Jamel Dean in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 31-9 victory over Kansas City in Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7, 2021.
The 18 players have been involved in 24 Super Bowl victories.
The Chiefs and Eagles will square off in Super Bowl LVII at 5:30 p.m. CST Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
