Mobile County man arrested in fentanyl-overdose death of stepsister

A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to the fentanyl overdose death of his stepsister, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.

The agency said it conducted a five month investigation following the death of Lindsey Brooke Walker on Sept. 29, 2024. Walker was found deceased in her backyard at 101 South Mauvilla Drive in Chickasaw.

MCSO said that over the course of the investigation Thomas Christopher Carter, Walker’s stepbrother, was identified as the primary suspect due to alleged involvement in the sale and transport of illegal drugs.

The agency said it executed a search warrant at Walker’s residence Wednesday, where they found Carter and nine other people.

Carter was arrested and allegedly confessed to giving Walker fentanyl prior to her death.

“Carter provided a full confession, after being read his Miranda Rights, in which he admitted to supplying the narcotics that caused the untimely death of Lindsey Walker,” MCSO said.

Two of the other individuals apprehended at the residence were juveniles on probation and were handed over to the Department of Human Resources.

Carter was charged with manslaughter, two counts of second-degree possession of marijuana, two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of chemical endangerment to a child.
