Who does Alabama women’s basketball play to start SEC Tournament?

Alabama women’s basketball will start its Southeastern Conference Tournament journey Thursday, starting on day two after earning a first-round bye.

The No. 6-seed Crimson Tide will play No. 11-seed Florida, a team they’ve defeated twice this season. Florida comes into the game after beating 14-seed Auburn 60-50 Wednesday night.

Alabama comes into the postseason with a 23-7 record, going 10-6 in SEC play. Its two regular season wins over Florida came by an average margin of 14, winning both games by double digits.

A win over Florida sets up a quarterfinal matchup with LSU, a team Alabama upset in overtime on Feb. 27.

Thursday’s second round game against Florida will be the final SEC Tournament game of the day, tipping off at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
