Troy forward Zay Dyer has been named first-team All-Sun Belt Conference in voting among league coaches.

Dyer, a 6-foot-2 junior from Atlanta, averages 13.5 points and a league-best 10.5 rebounds per game for the Trojans this season. She leads the Sun Belt in double-doubles with 14.

“I’m thrilled that Zay is being honored with this award,” head coach Chanda Rigby said. “She works extremely hard and gives her all in the Troy uniform. Zay has contributed so much to our program, and it’s great to see her be rewarded.”

Dyer joins Marshall’s Aislynn Hayes, Louisiana-Monroe’s Jakayla Johnson and the James Madison duo of Kseniia Kozlova and Peyton McDaniel on the All-Sun Belt first team. McDaniel was also chosen as Sun Belt Player of the Year.

James Madison, which finished 18-0 in Sun Belt play, also had the Sixth Woman of the Year (Ro Scott) and Coach of the Year (Sean O’Regan). Georgia State’s Mahogany Matthews was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Louisiana’s Erica Lafayette was picked as Newcomer of the Year and Southern Miss’ Trinity Rowe was chosen Freshman of the Year.

Troy (19-12 overall, 13-5 Sun Belt) is the No. 3 seed for the conference tournament, which begins Tuesday in Pensacola, Fla. The Trojans have a bye until the quarterfinal round, and will play their first game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
