An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Center Point.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at 9 a.m. Sunday to Shadowood Circle on a report of a body found near a stairwell at an apartment complex.

Lt. Joni Money said deputies arrived to find the man had sustained a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Money said very little information is available.
