If Alabamians could move to any town in the state, where would they go?

Alabama’s coast is one to boast, according to responses on a poll this week.

This is Alabama asked readers on Wednesday, “If you could live in any other Alabama town, which one would it be?” in a post to Facebook.

The post has received over 1,000 responses as of Friday, and an overwhelming majority of readers say they’re headed south for the summer.

Over 90% of respondents said they would move to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, or Spanish Fort. And Orange Beach was the most popular response out of the three.

“Anywhere near a body of water,” one commentor wrote.

“It’s always pristine and beautiful in Alabama.”

Commentors who live in the coveted beach towns seemed to agree.

“In Gulf Shores where I live now!” another wrote.

“The beautiful beach.”

The Auburn/Opelika area was another popular choice, and one commentor even shared his soft spot for the birthplace of Harper Lee.

“As much as I’ve loved Pinson, my whole life, I find myself being constantly beckoned, by the beauty, of Monroe County,” he wrote.

“That is the place that my dream home resides. In fact, every year, my family takes a non-interstate route to the beach.”

“As soon as we cross into Monroe County, I tell my wife, welcome to the promised land baby. She just looks at me and rolls her eyes.”
