NFL Scouting Combine: Which defensive tackle ran fastest on Thursday?

Nebraska’s Ty Robinson ran the fastest 40-yard dash among the defensive tackles at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday.

Robinson clocked a 4.83-second showing at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

SMU’s Jared Harrison-Hunte and Georgia’s Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins at 4.86 seconds tied for the second-fastest among the 19 defensive tackles who ran the 40 on Thursday. Forty defensive tackles are at the combine.

Robinson weighed 288 pounds for the combine. At 4.95 seconds, Toledo’s Darius Alexander ran the fastest 40 among the defensive tackles who topped 300 pounds. Alexander weighed 305 pounds.

Harrison-Hunte and Ingram-Dawkins had the fastest first 10 yards at 1.69 seconds.

Two players with Alabama football roots are in the defensive-tackle group at the combine.

Ole Miss defensive tackle JJ Pegues clocked a 5.15-second showing in the 40 at 309 pounds. Pegues played at Auburn in 2020 and 2021. His time ranked 14th among the defensive linemen.

Alabama defensive tackle Tim Smith did not run the 40 on Thursday.

Five other SEC defensive tackles participated in the 40 on Thursday. Georgia’s Warren Brinson ran 5.09, Arkansas’ Eric Gregory 5.14, Georgia’s Nazir Stackhouse 5.15, Florida’s Cam Jackson 5.17 and Tennessee’s Elijah Simmons 5.37.

In the other measurable drills on Thursday, the leaders among the defensive linemen included:

Vertical jump: Ingram-Dawkins outdid the other defensive tackles here, too, by clearing 36 inches. In leading the defensive tackles, Ingram-Dawkins finished one-half inch ahead North Carolina’s Jahvaree Ritzie, with Georgia Tech’s Zeek Biggers third at 34.5 inches.

Broad jump: Ingram-Dawkins also had the best showing at this station by clearing 10 feet, 4 inches – 124 inches. Ingram-Dawkins cleared more inches than Robinson, the broad-jump runner-up. Clemson’s Payton Page placed third at 116 inches.
