Auburn basketball sets home-and-home with Big 12 power
Auburn will play a men’s basketball home-and-home series with Arizona starting in 2025-26, the schools announced Thursday.
The first game is set for Dec. 6, 2025, in Tucson. The return game will be in Auburn on a to-be-determined date early in the 2026-27 season.
Arizona joins a rugged 2025-26 non-conference schedule for Auburn, which faces Houston in Birmingham, Purdue in Indianapolis and has also committed to play in the Players Era Men’s Championship in Las Vegas. The Players Era field includes Alabama, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon and St. John’s, among others.
Auburn and Arizona have met twice in men’s basketball, with the Tigers winning both games. Auburn won 73-63 in the first round of the 1986 NCAA tournament in Long Beach, Calif., and 73-57 as part of the 2018 Maui Invitational.
Top-ranked Auburn is 26-2 overall and 14-1 in the SEC this year following a 106-76 win over Ole Miss on Wednesday. The Tigers travel to face No. 17 Kentucky at noon Saturday, in a game to be televised by ABC.
Arizona this year is ranked No. 22 nationally, with a record of 19-9 overall and 13-4 in its first season in the Big 12. The Wildcats have reached four Final Fours, with a national championship in 1997.
