Victim killed in Lipscomb double shooting identified as Bessemer 18-year-old
Authorities have released the name of a Bessemer teen killed in double shooting in Lipscomb.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the victim as Marquese Janhari Webster. He was 18.
The shooting happened at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Crescent Avenue.
Jefferson County sheriff’s officials said they were dispatched to UAB West where two victims had arrived by private vehicle.
Investigators learned a 21-year-woman, who had been shot, drove herself and Webster to the hospital.
Webster was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m.
Additional details have not yet been released, and no arrests have been made.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
This is the first homicide in Lipscomb in 2025. In all of Jefferson County, there have been 26 homicides so far this year.
