Tornado count from last week climbs by 1

Add one to the tornado total from last weekend’s severe weather.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has confirmed one more tornado, an EF-0 in Moundville in Hale County.

That tornado brings the total from a round of severe storms on Feb. 15 and 16 to 11 tornadoes.

All of those were in north and central Alabama. South Alabama had wind damage but no confirmed tornadoes.

The latest tornado added to the count had top winds of 75 mph. There were no reported injuries. The tornado touched down at 12:33 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 16) near Green Ridge Road in Moundville in Hale County and was on the ground for 1.62 miles.

The tornado caused significant damage to a house and damaged a barn. The storm also snapped or uprooted numerous trees.

  • Tuscumbia Tornado (Colbert County): EF-1, top winds 105 mph. Path length 2.01 miles. Touched down at 11:12 p.m. Saturday.
  • Waco Tornado (Franklin County): EF-2, top winds 115 mph. One injury. Path length 3.93 miles. Touched down at 11:20 p.m. Saturday.
  • Wilson Lake Tornado (Lauderdale County): EF-1, top winds 94 mph. Path length 13.42 miles. No injuries. Tornado touched down at 11:22 p.m. Saturday.
  • Hatton Tornado (Lawrence County): EF-1, top winds 95 mph. Path length 1.5 miles. No injuries. Tornado touched down at 11:33 p.m. Saturday.
  • Rogersville Tornado (Lauderdale County): EF-1, top winds 95 mph. Path length 0.38 miles. No injuries. Touched down at 11:37 p.m. Saturday.
  • County Road 10 Tornado (Hale and Perry counties): EF-1, top winds 95 mph. Path length 18.37 miles. Two injuries. Touched down at 12:52 a.m. Sunday.
  • Mount Hebron Tornado (Marshall County): EF-1, top winds 100 mph. Path length 0.76 miles. Touched down at 1:05 a.m. Sunday. •
  • Weogufka Tornado (Coosa County): EF-0, top winds 75 mph. Path length 10.75 miles. No injuries. Tornado touched down at 2:01 am.
  • Barnesville Loop Tornado (Tallapoosa County): EF-1, top winds 90 mph. Path length 0.68 miles. No injuries. Touched down at 2:42 a.m. Sunday.
  • Bargainer Road Tornado (Macon County): EF-1, top winds 110 mph. Path length 7.52 miles. No injuries. Touched down at 2:47 a.m. Sunday.
