Trump border czar calls AOC ‘dumbest congresswoman ever’ as feud over migrants heats up

The feud between Donald Trump’s border czar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s escalated on Monday when Tom Homan called her “the dumbest congresswoman ever” as the New York representative maintained she didn’t break the law when she held a seminar helping migrants evade immigration officials.

“She’s the dumbest congresswoman ever elected to Congress and she proves that every day,” Homan said of the New York Democrat during an appearance Monday night on Newsmax.

“And look, bottom line is I can’t believe any member of Congress … would want to educate criminal illegal aliens, who are in the country illegally, have been convicted of violent crime and have been ordered removed by an immigration judge after due process at great taxpayer expense,” Homan said, “you got a congresswoman that does not want ICE [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] to do the job that Congress has mandated them to do and funded them to do.”

During the webinar, Ocasio-Cortez reportedly told participants, “When one of these things [raids] comes to your backyard, you can resist, and when that happens over millions of people, is that you generate enough friction that they cannot go as fast as they want to go.”

Ocasio-Cortez took to social media on Monday night to claim the migrants are not subject to unreasonable searches and seizures under the Fourth Amendment and that she is “well within my duties to educate people of their rights.”

“This is why you fight these cowards.” the congresswoman said, referring to Homan and other immigration hardliners. “The moment you stand up to them, they crumble.”

“He can threaten me with jail & call names all he wants,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “He’s got nothing else.”

Last week, Homan said he was seeking guidance from the Justice Department on whether the New York congresswoman broke any laws.

“Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts? If so, what are we going to do about it?,” Homan told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

“Is she crossing the line? Where’s that line that they crossed, so maybe AOC is going to be in trouble or not? But I need the [attorney general’s office] to opine on that,” Homan continued, adding that his opinion is that Ocasio-Cortez is impeding federal law enforcement.

The congresswoman responded to last week’s attack by mocking the border czar.

“‘MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw,‘” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted last week. “Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start.”
