Alabama’s spot in NCAA Tournament bracket preview revealed by committee
If the season ended today, Alabama men’s basketball would be a No. 1 seed and the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament bracket.
The committee released the top 16 teams and their spots as of Feb. 15. The Crimson Tide would be the No. 1 seed in the Midwest region.
Auburn, who the Crimson Tide will play Saturday, was put in the No. 1 overall seed spot and in the South region. The other two No. 1 seeds: Duke and Florida. Alabama will face Auburn on Saturday (3 p.m., ESPN) at Coleman Coliseum.
Selection Sunday will be held March 16.
Before then, Alabama has seven remaining SEC games, including the matchup against Auburn. Then the Crimson Tide will compete in the SEC Tournament.
Every remaining game on Alabama’s schedule will be against a ranked opponent: No. 1 Auburn, No. 21 Missouri, No. 15 Kentucky, No. 22 Mississippi State, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 3 Florida and then Auburn again.
