The chair of the Alabama House Democratic Caucus and a former aide during Sam Jones’ mayoral administration has filed the paperwork to run for Mobile mayor later this year.

State Rep. Barbara Drummond, D-Mobile, officially registered her principal campaign committee with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office on Feb. 3. No further details were included, and Drummond said an official announcement will be forthcoming.
