A Hartselle man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday night in Winston County.

The wreck happened at 9 p.m. on Winston County 55, about five miles northwest of Double Springs.

ALEA Senior Trooper Gregory Corble said 51-year-old Chad W. Smith was driving a GMC Silverado that left the road, hit a utility pole and overturned.

Smith was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
