Anniston man dies month after single-vehicle crash in east Alabama

An Anniston man has died, nearly one month after he was critically injured in an east Alabama crash.

Michael L. Casalini, 60, died Monday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The wreck happened at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, on U.S. 431, about one mile northwest of Saks in Calhoun County.

Senior Trooper Vu Quang said Casalini was driving a Ford F-150 that left the road and hit a ditch.

Casalina was taken from the crash scene to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Pell City, and later transferred to UAB Hospital, where he died.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
