Where does Auburn basketball rank in the AP poll after Saturday’s loss to Florida?

Auburn men’s basketball suffered its first loss since early December on Saturday, falling 90-81 to Florida.

It was Auburn’s first home and Southeastern Conference loss and also broke a 14-game winning streak. Despite the loss, it didn’t affect the Tigers’ place in the AP poll, remaining the No. 1 team in the country.

Auburn’s loss came just hours before then No. 2 Duke also lost, helping the Tigers keep their spot.

The biggest competition for No. 1 came from Alabama, who was ranked No. 3 in the previous poll and received 23 first place votes this week, 11 fewer than Auburn. The Crimson Tide did jump Auburn in the coaches poll, with the Tigers falling to No. 2.

Auburn will face Alabama in Tuscaloosa this Saturday.

Florida rose to No. 3 after beating Auburn, meaning three of the top five teams came from the SEC. Nine total SEC teams were ranked this week, with Texas A&M, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri and Mississippi State rounding out the top 25 behind Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
