Mobile Police have identified the victim in its investigation into a deadly shooting on Friday.

Tykendrick Barnett, 22, was the victim in the shooting, according to a release by the police department on Saturday.

Officers responded to Barnett’s death investigation at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, officers discovered Barnett’s body in an empty lot with a fatal gunshot injury.

The homicide probe remains an active investigation, and no further information is available.
