Suspect in fatal south Alabama strip club shooting acquitted of murder

A Mobile County man was acquitted of murder Thursday in the fatal shooting of another man at a south Alabama strip club in February 2021.

Robert Abrams, 32, of Irvington, was found not guilty of murder by a Mobile County jury in the Feb. 27, 2021 slaying of Manchella Allen, court records showed.

The jury deliberated for about four hours, according to court records.

Allen, 45, died after being shot multiple times at the Cookies N’ Cream club in Theodore, Mobile police said at the time of the incident.

Abrams’ girlfriend, Breanna Cunningham, was also charged with murder in connection with Allen’s slaying.

Her case is still pending in court.
