Alabama football falls in last AP top 25 ranking of 2024 season

Alabama football ended its season with a loss to a depleted Michigan team in the ReliaQuest Bowl, and the final AP top 25 rankings for the 2024 season reflect the bad loss.

The Crimson Tide dropped to No. 17 in the final rankings, down six spots from Alabama’s ranking prior to the bowl game. The past two seasons, the Crimson Tide landed in the No. 5 spot in the final AP top 25.

The Crimson Tide finished Kalen DeBoer’s first season 9-4, the first non-10 win season for Alabama since 2007, which was Nick Saban’s first season in Tuscaloosa.

The No. 17 ranking is the lowest the Crimson Tide’s had since Saban’s first season when Alabama

The Crimson Tide was the fifth-highest ranked SEC team to end the season. No. 4 Texas, No. 6 Georgia, No. 9 Tennessee and No. 11 Ole Miss all finished ahead of Alabama in the rankings.
