Why was Deion Sanders in Alabama?

Colorado coach Deion Sanders was in Alabama over the weekend.

Coach Prime, who has been at the center of speculation surrounding the Dallas Cowboys coaching vacancy, surprised his daughter Shelomi in down in Huntsville.

Deion Sanders dropped in on Shelomi Sanders, a guard for the Alabama A&M women’s basketball team, to watch the team playing Alabama State.

The former Florida State standout posted the event on social media.

“Surprised my baby girl yesterday at Alabama A&M!” he posted. “It was epic, and they won. The HBCU atmosphere was all that. Dr. Bryant, thank you for helping me make yesterday happen for my baby! Love all y’all that showed me love. God bless.”

Alabama A&M earned a 54-47 win.

Shelomi Sanders was scoreless in seven minutes on the floor.

Shelomi Sanders started her collegiate basketball career at Jackson State, with her father and brothers. She also transferred to Colorado when Deion Sanders took over as the Buffaloes’ head coach. After a year, she joined Alabama A&M.
