Victims identified in Mobile I-10 triple homicide, police say

The victims in an apparent triple homicide Saturday night have been identified, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Marco Alvarado, 24, Christon Aponte, 30, and Angel Esparra, 28, were identified by police as the three people killed Saturday night on Theodore Dawes Road off Interstate 10 in Mobile.

Police responded around 7:34 p.m. on Saturday to a shooting, according to a news release. Upon arrival, the officers discovered three victims, all with fatal gunshot wounds. All three died at the scene.

The officers learned that Alvarado, Aponte, and Esparra had been in a physical altercation with a known male subject while stopped at the overpass, police said. A second male subject shot all of the victims. The subjects’ names are not being released at this time.

The two subjects left in separate vehicles before police arrived, according to the news release.

Police are continuing to investigate the homicide, and no further information is available currently.

The shooting on I-10 was less than 24 hours after two people were killed in a shooting on Newcombe Drive in the Theodore area of Mobile.

Jimmetrious Wilson, 24, and Tristian Williams, 41, were killed in an incident late Friday night into early Saturday morning. Police said that Wilson assaulted Williams, Williams then shot Wilson in retaliation, police said.

A known female subject, who has not been identified, then shot Williams. By the time police arrived at the scene around midnight Saturday, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Blake Brown, a spokesperson for the Mobile Police Department, told AL.com that the two shootings are “separate incidents.”
