JD Crowe: Tommy Tuberville is an Alabama DEI hire

This is an opinion cartoon

“DEI” (diversity, equity and inclusion) means something a little different when applied to Tommy Tuberville.

Ol’ Tubs has been on a roll this week. As wildfires raged in Los Angeles, leaving at least 24 dead and thousands of homes destroyed, Tubby told Newsmax that California does not “deserve” any money until they “change their ways.”

“They got 40 million people in that state” voting for “imbeciles,” said the Florida man known as “America’s dumbest senator.

That’s when Jon Stewart jumped off the top rope and grabbed Troubleville by the ears.

“Really senator from Alabama?” Stewart said.

“The state near the bottom in math, reading and test scores. Next time you get hit by a f****ng hurricane, why don’t we have a little parent teacher conference to see that if you got your scores up, you would get the money, or actually, let’s not do it, because you’ll get the money anyway, because we’re not f****ng psychos. That is psychotic. There’s something wrong with you.”

That’s about the time Tubby ran to defend the indefensible nomination of Fox News’ Pete Hegseth for U.S. Defense Secretary. Tubs pulled out his go-to boogeyman, claiming ‘woke’ policies are to blame for declining military recruitment.

In one example, Tuberville said that he met with Navy SEALs who “just got back from crawling around in the mud and the muck overseas, unknown places…. First week they’re back, what do they do, they had go through a week of DEI training.”

“Both are now out,” he said.

“They give it up.”

But according to a report from MSNBC, Naval Special Warfare Command is not aware of the training Tuberville described.
