Huntsville will have a larger hand in helping the Navy deter air attacks at sea.
Raytheon Co. was awarded a $333,281,489 contract to support planned increases in production capacity for the Standard Missile-6, according to the Defense Department. Options in the award could increase the value to $908,144,803.
About 19% of the work will be performed in Huntsville, with the bulk to be done in Tucson, Ariz., along with Andover, Mass., and Diné, N.M.
